Does Teddy’s do a Leaf-Raking Service?

2:15 pm on September 30, 2011

So, I need to know. Do you guys rake leaves and clean up yards for the fall? I hate doing it, and I’m having a hard time finding a good service to take care of this.

- James in Wixom, MI

Hello James. Yes, we get that sort of complaint every year from homeowners, and yes, we do have a Fall Cleanup Service. With our service, we clean your yard of leaves, twigs, and other debris that collects. If you have any more questions, James, give us a call or Email us.

What’s the difference between snow plowing and snow removal?

7:47 pm on September 12, 2011

So, I am confused. In your services, you have both snow plowing and snow removal. What’s the difference? I thought they were the same thing.

- Jim in Westland, MI

Hi Jim. Many people confuse these services. Although they are similar, snow plowing means clearing the snow from a surface into piles, whereas, snow removal means that we literally remove the snow from the property. We do this by using heavy machinery like loaders and dump trucks. Snow removal is ideal for companies or properties with limited space to pile the snow on their property.

Do I really need to winterize my sprinkler system?

2:58 pm on August 26, 2011

Hi Teddy. A buddy of mine told me I didn’t have to have my sprinklers winterized, that I could blow out the lines myself with my air compressor. Is this true?

- Adam in Canton, MI

Hi Adam. It’s true that you could hook up your air compressor and try to blow out the air from your system, but you may not have the right connection to your sprinkler system, plus, small air compressors will not blow out all of the lines in a sprinkler system. That’s why we use a commercial-grade air compressor, because if there is any water left in the pipes, the water will freeze and expand, and potentially crack the pipes or break the heads. It’s better to get this maintenance done by a professional than have to pay for a sprinkler repair, or even worse, a new sprinkler system. Hope that helps.
